Soda Pictures are delighted to announce our fantastic coup of latest acquisitions from this years’ Toronto Film Festival. Two of which, you will be fortunate enough to be able to see at this years’ London Film Festival.
GIRL ON THE TRAIN (LA FILLE DU RER) is the complex drama from veteran French auteur André Téchiné, starring Emilie Dequenne and Catherine Deneuve. Dequenne stars as a young woman who claims that she was a victim of an anti-Semitic attack that creates a media news sensation. Deneuve stars as her mother and Michel Blanc stars as the attorney set to represent her.
Soda Pictures have previously worked with Téchiné on STRAYED and with Catherine Deneuve on JE VEUX VOIR and are delighted to be working again alongside such established talent that we have enjoyed previous success with.
STORM is a political thriller inspired by the Serbian War crimes trials, starring Kerry Fox as a prosecutor in The Hague who tries to persuade a witness, a Bosnian woman living in Berlin (Anamaria Marinca), to come to the court to give evidence against a suspected Serbian war criminal.
STORM is the first major international project of director Hans-Christian Schmid, with whom Soda Pictures enjoyed previous success with the acclaimed REQUIEM.
MAMMOTH is the first English language feature of celebrated Swedish director Lukas Moodysson. Starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Michelle Williams as a successful New York couple in this impressive multi-narrative drama.
Mammoth will receive a National theatrical release in Spring 2010.
