Soda’s Top 5: Part 3

And now it’s the turn of our Press and Marketing Assistant, Richard Geddes.

Top 5 of the year (in no particular order).
Sugar, charming but not whimsical, fish out of water tale. The real American dream.

The Wrestler, as above.
Let the Right One In, Great concept, flawlessly made.
Mark of an Angel, slick, French, modern noir thriller.
Wendy and Lucy, The film that introduced me to Soda, like a road movie, only static.

Favourite Soda Film
As I already mentioned Wendy and Lucy I’ll have to give it to the straight to DVD Three Blind Mice just because it’s a very funny film.

Top 5 Films of the Decade also in no particular order.
Tale of Two Sisters, first time a horror movie kept me scared and guessing in many years.
Infernal Affairs

The Royal Tenenbaums
Batman Begins, Still the best screen adaptation of a comic book character, Bale is excellent as Bruce Wayne but not so great as Batman so Batman Begins trumps the Dark Knight.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Defining Film of the Decade
Old Boy, every time I see a hammer a little bit of wee comes out.
