El Bano del Papa in Taiwan
Our marketing manager Martin stumbled across the Taiwanese theatrical poster for upcoming release ‘El Bano Del Papa’ on the Bavaria website this morning. In light of my post yesterday talking about the use of different designs in various regions I thought it would be apt to feature it.
The poster really tickled us at Soda and it exudes the charm and warmth of the film. Sadly these cute characterisations won’t be gracing the lightboxes of your local UK cinema, as it’s rather obvious its highly focused to market to a Taiwan audience. We were slightly baffled at first over the presence of the large Oscar- but assume that this may be down to the film being the official Uruguayan entry for the category of Best Foreign Language film at the awards last year.
I must admit to being jealous that they’ve been able to create a design that’s such a leap from a great many UK designs- but who knows in future what elements from posters like this may inspire and seep into UK designs.
