Synopsis

On the surface Inge is a happily-married woman in her mid-sixties with a devoted husband of thirty years and grandchildren to enjoy. However, her calm and predictable world is turned upside down when she meets Karl, an older man she finds herself drawn to, and immediately they embark upon a passionate affair. In spite of her feelings of guilt and

betrayal, Inge finds herself unable to let go of the joy she has found. Seeking forgiveness and understanding, Inge is compelled to confess to her unsuspecting husband of her new-found love with devastating consequences. Cloud 9 explores fidelity, desire and love in the twilight years and subverts convention to present a brave account of young love in old age.
