Synopsis
When headstrong Claire learns that she is five months pregnant at the age of 17, she decides to give birth in secret. Living independently and bored with her supermarket job, it is Claire’s passion for embroidery that leads her to seek out the revered Madame Mélikian, an embroiderer for haute couture
designer Christian Lacroix. Grieving her lost son, Madame Mélikian is initially reluctant to take on the girl. But day by day, stitch by stitch, as Claire's belly grows rounder, the two begin to share a new hope and companionship in the exquisitely intricate threads of their latest and most ambitious pattern.
